Honda Jazz – Dedicated Android Navigation and AHD Reversing Camera Installation

In this Honda Jazz, we completed a professional installation of a dedicated Android navigation system together with a high-quality AHD reversing camera. The new multimedia unit was designed to fit the original dashboard and create a clean, integrated appearance.

The upgrade significantly expanded the capabilities of the original system. The driver now has a large touchscreen, navigation, compatible applications, music playback, Bluetooth connectivity and additional Android functions.

The AHD reversing camera activates automatically when reverse gear is selected. Its image is displayed on the large multimedia screen, making the area behind the vehicle easier to observe during parking manoeuvres.

Dedicated Android navigation designed for the Honda Jazz

We used a multimedia unit designed for this specific vehicle model. Its vehicle-specific housing and shape allowed the screen to be integrated into the centre of the dashboard without using an unsuitable universal frame.

The new screen is considerably larger than the original radio and provides convenient control of navigation, multimedia and system settings. Clear icons and a touchscreen interface make the unit easy to operate.

During the installation, we ensured correct wiring, secure placement of the unit and a neat factory-style finish. All wiring was concealed behind the dashboard components.

Android navigation, applications and multimedia

The Android system gives the user access to various functions familiar from smartphones and tablets. Compatible navigation applications, music playback, Bluetooth connectivity and other supported applications can be used on the new display.

Navigation can operate with online or offline maps, depending on the selected application and internet connection. The large screen makes the route and upcoming manoeuvres easier to read.

Music can be played from a connected phone, USB storage or compatible applications. Bluetooth also allows hands-free calls and wireless audio playback without installing an additional device.

AHD reversing camera installation in the Honda Jazz

Together with the Android navigation system, we installed an AHD reversing camera. This technology provides a clearer and more detailed image than many basic analogue cameras.

The camera was adjusted to monitor the area directly behind the vehicle. When reverse gear is selected, the display automatically changes from the current application to the reversing camera image.

Parking guidelines shown on the screen help the driver estimate distance and vehicle position in relation to nearby obstacles. This is particularly useful when parking in confined spaces or manoeuvring inside a garage.

Why install an AHD reversing camera?

A reversing camera improves visibility of the area that cannot be observed accurately through the mirrors. It can help the driver notice a low post, kerb, obstacle or another vehicle located behind the car.

The original steering wheel buttons remain operational after fitting the dedicated multimedia unit. The driver can adjust the volume and use supported functions without reaching for the touchscreen.

Correct steering wheel control integration improves both convenience and safety. The new radio expands the vehicle’s functionality without removing useful elements of the original equipment.
