BMW Z3 Door Soundproofing – Gradual Acoustic Upgrade for the Bimmer
We’re continuing the acoustic transformation of this classic BMW Z3! This time, our focus was on soundproofing the front doors, using high-quality materials: STP Black Silver deadening mats and Bitmat K3s sound-absorbing foam.

Materials used in the door treatment:
STP Black Silver – premium butyl-aluminum mat for effective vibration and external noise damping
Bitmat K3s – sound-absorbing open-cell foam, perfect as a second layer in door soundproofing
Step-by-step installation process:
Removing the door panels and thoroughly cleaning the inner surfaces
Applying STP Black Silver mats to both the outer and inner metal panels
Adding a second layer with Bitmat K3s to fill cavities and improve noise isolation
Reinstalling the door panels while maintaining the OEM look
Testing – significantly reduced road noise and better cabin acoustics
