🚗 Honda Civic UFO gets a new life! Car Audio, soundproofed doors, head unit and full multimedia upgrade

🔊 Morel Maximo Ultra HE front + CTK door soundproofing
In the front doors of this Honda Civic UFO, we installed a set of Morel Maximo Ultra HE speakers – well known for their clarity, balance, and musicality. They’re among the best in their class, offering crisp highs, warm mids, and solid, controlled bass.
To get the most out of them, we carried out two-layer door soundproofing.
We used:
✅ CTK Standard butyl mats as the first layer,
✅ CTK WaveFix acoustic foam as the second layer under the door trim.
This significantly improved door stiffness, reduced panel resonance, and increased speaker efficiency. As a result, the sound became cleaner, more focused, and louder – without increasing amplifier power.
🔧 The speakers were mounted on solid MDF spacers, decoupled with technical foam tape, and the speaker cables were routed neatly and securely, following best Car Audio practices.
🔈 Steg MS650 without soundproofing – rear channel reinforcement
In the rear doors, we installed a pair of Steg MS650 speakers – a perfect match to complement the front Morel Maximo HE setup. Even without additional soundproofing, the Steg speakers deliver clean and dynamic sound thanks to their high efficiency and solid build quality.
Their goal wasn’t to create a full soundstage, but rather to fill out the rear audio field and provide depth for rear passengers. With DSP tuning, the rear channels play at the right level and never overpower the front stage.
🔧 Installation was completely non-invasive – we used OEM speaker locations and connections, keeping the factory look intact.
📻 Kenwood DMX8021DABS + reverse camera – modern multimedia center
We replaced the factory head unit with a Kenwood DMX8021DABS multimedia system. This is one of the most popular high-end head units, offering Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, DAB+, and a fast, user-friendly interface on a high-resolution touchscreen.
We also installed a reverse camera, which activates automatically when shifting into reverse gear. The video feed is sharp and clear, and the parking assist lines make city maneuvering much easier.
🔧 The head unit was installed using a custom frame matched to the Civic’s dash layout. We also integrated CAN signals to retain steering wheel controls and factory convenience features.
🎛️ Musway M6v4 DSP processor – tuning & total control
To fully unleash the potential of the front and rear speakers, we added the Musway M6v4 DSP processor – a unit that combines a powerful amplifier with advanced sound processing.
It allows:
✅ precise tuning of each channel,
✅ individual time alignment,
✅ EQ correction based on cabin acoustics.
With the DSP, we created a perfectly balanced soundstage – vocals are centered, and instruments have excellent depth and separation. Everything is controlled via a mobile app, and multiple sound profiles can be saved and switched with one tap.
🔧 The processor was installed discreetly, maintaining a clean and factory-like appearance.
🎥 FineVU GX4K – front & rear dash cam
To finish the upgrade, we installed the FineVU GX4K dash cam system, which includes both a front and rear camera – providing full driving and parking coverage. It’s one of the most advanced models on the market, ideal for drivers who value quality and safety.
Key features:
✅ 4K front recording and Full HD rear,
✅ Sony STARVIS sensors in both cameras,
✅ Parking mode with motion and impact detection,
✅ Built-in GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile app.
The front cam was installed behind the rearview mirror, and the rear cam on the back window. All cables were hidden for a clean, OEM-like look, with no impact on the vehicle’s interior finish.
