🚗 Ford Ranger Raptor – complete car audio system upgrade

The Ford Ranger Raptor is a powerful off-road truck – but its factory sound system falls short of expectations. That’s why we carried out a full audio upgrade: from soundproofing, to ESB Audio speakers, a DSP processor, and a custom DIY subwoofer installation. The result? Deep, clean, and dynamic car audio performance tailored to the Raptor’s cabin.

🔊 Step-by-step car audio upgrade

🛠️ Front doors – ESB Audio + Comfort Mat soundproofing

We installed a high-end front speaker set:

• 🔈 ESB Audio 4165 – 165 mm midbass speakers

• 🔈 ESB Audio 428 – 28 mm dome tweeters – mounted in the factory mirror cover positions 🪞

We used custom-designed 3D-printed adapters for perfect OEM integration.

🎧 Soundproofing the front doors:

• ✅ Comfort Mat Bronze – high-performance butyl layer for vibration damping

• ✅ Ultrasoft 10 – acoustic foam for internal absorption

• ✅ Comfort Mat Spider – flexible barrier to block high-frequency reflections

🔊 The result: reduced road noise, better midbass control, and a more focused front soundstage.

🎶 Rear doors – ESB Audio 26C + full soundproofing

In the rear doors, we installed:

• 🔈 ESB Audio 26C – 165 mm coaxial speakers – perfectly complementing the front setup

Same soundproofing approach as the front:

• ✅ Comfort Mat Bronze

• ✅ Ultrasoft 10

• ✅ Comfort Mat Spider

🎧 Balanced car audio from front to back – no dead spots.

🧠 DSP & Zapco amplifiers – the brain of the system

🎛️ DSP processor with autotune

We used:

• 🎚️ Zapco DSP Z8 IV AT – 8-channel DSP with autotune

With autotune, we achieved:

• ⏱️ time alignment

• 📈 tonal correction

• 🎯 precise tuning to match cabin acoustics

⚡ Zapco monoblock amplifier

• ⚡ Zapco ST-750D – compact Class D amplifier

Both the DSP and amplifier were installed in a custom-built DIY enclosure behind the rear seats – fully hidden but easily accessible. The construction is:

• 🧱 clean and minimal

• 🔒 safe and secure

• 💨 properly ventilated

🔊 Subwoofer – when bass matters

🔉 Installed model:

• 🔊 ESB Audio 110SD4 – 10” shallow subwoofer

📦 Custom bass-reflex enclosure:

• 📐 27 liters volume

• 📊 Tuned to 39 Hz

• 🎯 Ideal frequency response for this cabin

🎵 The result: fast, punchy, and controlled low-end. The sub supports the system – it doesn’t overpower it.
