Mercedes V-Class W447 – Full Car Soundproofing with Comfort Mat
In this project we performed a complete car soundproofing and damping package on a Mercedes V-Class W447. The scope covered the roof, front/rear/sliding doors, floor, inner and outer wheel arches, tailgate and hood. We built a multi-layer system using premium Comfort Mat materials to efficiently control resonance, absorb airborne noise and isolate structural vibrations. The result is a markedly quieter cabin, better long-distance comfort and improved Car Audio performance.
Materials used
- ✅ Comfort Mat Bronze 2mm — base butyl anti-resonance layer for roof, doors, floor and tailgate.
- ✅ Comfort Mat Ultrasoft 10 — high-performance absorber for roof, doors, wheel arches (inner) and tailgate.
- ✅ Comfort Mat Tsunami 18 — second absorbing layer inside the doors for mid/high-frequency control.
- ✅ Comfort Mat Vespa 2.5mm — robust outer wheel-arch layer to cut tire/road roar.
- ✅ Comfort Mat Integra 6mm — inner wheel-arch isolator reducing low-frequency transfer to the cabin.
What changes after soundproofing?
With the multi-layer method, cabin noise drops by several decibels across the band. You hear less tire roar and wind, panel resonance is under control, conversations are easier at motorway speeds, and music playback gains clarity, tighter bass and cleaner midrange. That’s the benefit of a correctly staged roof–door–floor–arches package.
Scope of work on the V-Class W447
- ✅ Roof: Bronze 2mm + Ultrasoft 10.
- ✅ Doors (front/rear/sliding): Bronze 2mm on skins + Tsunami 18 inside + Ultrasoft 10 under trim.
- ✅ Floor: Bronze 2mm with selective Ultrasoft 10.
- ✅ Wheel arches outer: Vespa 2.5mm; inner: Integra 6mm.
- ✅ Tailgate and hood: Bronze 2mm + Ultrasoft 10.
