Volkswagen T6.1 Caravelle – sound system upgrade and full vehicle soundproofing
This Volkswagen T6.1 Caravelle came to Sound Audio System for a complete audio system upgrade combined with full car soundproofing, noise reduction and damping. The goal of this project was to significantly improve sound quality while also increasing overall driving comfort.
In vehicles like this, simply replacing speakers is not enough. To achieve high-quality sound, we combined premium components with proper vehicle preparation, including car soundproofing and damping. This allowed us to eliminate unwanted vibrations, improve acoustics, and create the perfect environment for a high-end car audio system.
Additionally, we installed a modern front and rear dash cam system with parking mode, improving both safety and everyday usability.
Installed equipment – ESB Audio, Zapco and FineVu GX4K
The system in this Volkswagen T6.1 Caravelle is based on carefully selected components: ESB Audio speakers, Zapco amplifiers, and a FineVu GX4K dash cam system. This combination delivers precise, dynamic, and well-balanced sound.
Front tweeters – ESB Audio 4.28
High frequencies are handled by ESB Audio 4.28 tweeters, which are responsible for detail, clarity, and accurate sound staging.
Front woofers – ESB Audio 4.165
Mid and low frequencies are delivered by ESB Audio 4.165 woofers. These speakers are a key element of the system, responsible for depth, dynamics, and natural sound reproduction.

Rear speakers – ESB Audio 3.6C
The rear system is based on ESB Audio 3.6C coaxial speakers, which improve sound coverage inside the vehicle.
Amplifier – Zapco ST-104D SQ III
The system is powered by Zapco ST-104D SQ III amplifier, supported by Zapco ST-4X DSP III for tweeters and rear speakers control.
Subwoofer – ESB Audio 1.10SD2
Low frequencies are handled by ESB Audio 1.10SD2 subwoofer, installed in a dedicated enclosure to maintain space while delivering strong, controlled bass.

Dash cam system – FineVu GX4K
We also installed a FineVu GX4K dash cam system (front and rear cameras with parking mode), improving safety and vehicle monitoring.

Door soundproofing – the foundation for proper woofer performance

ESB Audio 4.165 woofer installation – solid foundation for dynamic sound
After preparing the doors, we installed ESB Audio 4.165 woofers , which are responsible for mid and low frequencies.
To achieve perfect fitment and stability, we used custom-designed 3D printed speaker adapters . This solution ensures better rigidity and significantly improves sound performance compared to universal mounts.

Rear section of the audio system – speakers, subwoofer and system integration
After completing the front stage and door soundproofing, we moved on to the next stage of the Volkswagen T6.1 Caravelle project. This phase focused on completing the system with rear speakers, installing a subwoofer in a dedicated fitbox enclosure, and integrating wiring and amplifiers.
Rear speakers – ESB Audio 3.6C
The rear section was equipped with ESB Audio 3.6C speakers, ensuring balanced sound distribution throughout the cabin.

Low frequencies are handled by the ESB Audio 1.10SD2 subwoofer, installed in a dedicated fitbox enclosure. This solution allows full trunk usability while delivering tight and controlled bass.

RCA wiring and signal routing
Proper routing of RCA cables and clean audio connections is essential for any professional car audio system.
Zapco amplifier installation
The system is powered by high-quality Zapco amplifiers, ensuring full control over the audio system and optimal performance.
Additional soundproofing around subwoofer and trunk area
We also applied soundproofing and damping materials around the subwoofer area to improve bass response and reduce unwanted vibrations.
Exterior wheel arch soundproofing, tailgate and sliding door damping
The final stage of the Volkswagen T6.1 Caravelle project focused on comprehensive soundproofing, damping and noise reduction of the most critical body elements, including exterior wheel arches, the rear tailgate and sliding doors.
In vans, these areas are the main sources of road noise, especially at higher speeds. Proper treatment of these zones has a huge impact on both driving comfort and the overall performance of the car audio system.
We applied a multi-layer approach using butyl mats to stiffen the metal panels, combined with sound-absorbing materials to reduce noise and improve interior acoustics.
