BMW G30 550i (M550i) – Factory Audio Upgrade | HI-END Car Audio
In the BMW G30 550i (M550i), we carried out an advanced upgrade of the factory audio system while preserving full OEM functionality. The project was completed as a professional car audio system in the hi-end class, without any visual changes to the vehicle’s interior.
Scope of Work – BMW G30 550i
- ✅ Integration of the audio system with the factory BMW head unit
- ✅ Decoding of the audio signal from the MOST bus
- ✅ System tuning using a DSP processor
- ✅ Upgrade of front speakers and the center channel
- ✅ Under-seat subwoofers: Gladen
- ✅ Rear speakers: factory (OEM BMW)
- ✅ Trunk subwoofer installed in a dedicated enclosure

- ✅ DSP processor and amplifier: Awave DSP 8.1 – 10-channel amplifier with built-in DSP
- ✅ MOST signal interface: Audison bit DMI
- ✅ Front and center speakers: STEG BM45CII – BMW-dedicated speaker set
- ✅ Under-seat subwoofers: Gladen
- ✅ Trunk subwoofer: JL Audio 10W3
- ✅ Subwoofer enclosure: 25 liters – sealed enclosure
MOST Signal Decoding – The Key to Sound Quality
In modern BMW vehicles, the audio signal is transmitted digitally via the MOST bus. We used the Audison bit DMI interface, which allows full retention of OEM functionality while providing a clean, high-quality audio signal for further processing.
