Soundproofing Audi A3 8V – Floor, Doors and Wheel Arches
In this project, we performed a comprehensive car soundproofing of the Audi A3 8V. The scope of work included the floor, front and rear doors, and wheel arches. Our goal was to reduce road noise, enhance cabin comfort, and prepare the vehicle for an upgraded car audio system.
Comfort Mat materials used in the Audi A3 8V
We applied high-performance materials from Comfort Mat:
- Floor: Comfort Mat Viper 3 mm – extremely flexible and effective at reducing low-frequency vibrations.
- Doors: Comfort Mat Vespa 2.5 mm + Ultrasoft 10 mm foam – this combo dampens vibrations and absorbs unwanted noise inside the cabin.
- Wheel arches: Comfort Mat Spider 3.5 mm – a perfect material for areas exposed to dirt and moisture.

Floor soundproofing in Audi A3 8V
We started by thoroughly cleaning and degreasing the floor. Then we applied Comfort Mat Viper – a material that conforms tightly to the surface and effectively blocks vibrations and noise from the tires and pavement.
Door sound insulation – front and rear
In all doors, we used a two-layer solution: Comfort Mat Vespa for vibration damping, and Ultrasoft foam to absorb acoustic waves. This significantly improves in-car acoustics and reduces metallic resonance.
Wheel arch treatment – front and rear
Wheel arches are key in blocking noise from tires and the road surface. We applied Comfort Mat Spider 3.5 mm, known for moisture resistance and high damping performance in exposed areas.
Final result and full gallery
The outcome is a noticeably quieter, more comfortable cabin in the Audi A3 8V. Road and vibration noise have been minimized, paving the way for high-end audio system upgrades.
