In this Audi A6 C7, we completed a professional installation of the FineVu GX-1100 4K dual-channel dash cam. The system includes a front and rear camera, allowing it to record events both in front of and behind the vehicle while driving and when parked.
The installation was completed with fully concealed wiring, without leaving loose cables on the dashboard, windscreen or headliner. The dash cam was also connected directly to the vehicle’s electrical system to enable active parking surveillance mode.

The position of the front camera was carefully selected to provide a wide field of view without restricting the driver’s visibility. The camera is mounted in the upper section of the windscreen, making it discreet and allowing it to blend naturally with the Audi interior.
Front and rear video recording
The dual-channel FineVu system records the area in front of and behind the vehicle simultaneously. This provides a much broader range of evidence than a single dash cam mounted only on the front windscreen.
The rear camera can record rear-end collisions, dangerous behaviour by other road users and parking incidents. The cable connecting both cameras was routed beneath the interior trim while maintaining the vehicle’s original factory appearance.
Parking mode in the Audi A6 C7
As part of the installation, we activated parking surveillance mode, which allows the dash cam to monitor the vehicle’s surroundings after the ignition has been switched off. This feature is particularly useful when leaving the vehicle in public car parks, residential areas or shopping centre parking facilities.
Correct parking mode operation requires the dash cam to be properly connected to the vehicle’s electrical system. Simply plugging the device into the cigarette lighter socket is not sufficient. The installation must provide power after the engine is switched off while also protecting the vehicle battery against excessive discharge.
