BMW 3 Series E90 – 70mai A510S Front and Rear Dash Cam Installation with Parking Mode
In this BMW 3 Series E90, we carried out a professional installation of the 70mai A510S front and rear dash cam system. The recorder was also hardwired to the vehicle to enable Parking Mode after the ignition is switched off.
During the installation, we focused on discreet camera positioning, correct lens alignment and completely concealed wiring. After completing the work, the entire system was configured and thoroughly tested.
70mai A510S front and rear dash cam system
The 70mai A510S is a dual-channel system designed to record the area in front of and behind the vehicle at the same time. The front camera records in up to 1944P resolution, while the rear camera captures Full HD 1080p footage.
Using two cameras provides wider monitoring coverage. Recordings may help document a collision, a dangerous manoeuvre, a rear impact or damage that occurs while the vehicle is parked.
Front dash cam installation in the BMW E90
The front camera was installed high on the windscreen near the rear-view mirror. This position provides a wide view of the road while keeping the device outside the driver’s main field of vision.
The power cable was concealed behind the headliner and factory interior trim. Particular attention was paid to correct cable routing near the windscreen pillar and the vehicle’s safety components.
Rear camera installation
The rear camera was installed at the top of the BMW E90 rear window. The viewing angle was adjusted to capture a wide area directly behind the car.
The cable connecting both cameras was routed behind the original interior trim. No loose wiring remains visible, allowing the installation to retain a clean, factory-style appearance.
Parking Mode in the BMW 3 Series
The dash cam was hardwired to allow continued monitoring after the ignition is switched off. Parking Mode can react to a detected impact and protect footage associated with the incident.
This function is useful in residential car parks, shopping centres, garages and other locations where the vehicle may remain unattended.
