BMW X1 E84 – BMW Advanced Car Eye 3.0 Pro Front and Rear Dash Cam Installation

In this BMW X1 E84, we installed a dedicated BMW Advanced Car Eye 3.0 Pro system. The set includes a front and rear camera and was connected to support Parking Mode.

The aim of the installation was to provide reliable video monitoring while driving and parking, while retaining the factory appearance of the vehicle. All wiring was hidden behind the original interior trim, and the cameras were positioned so that they did not restrict the driver’s field of view.

Dedicated BMW Advanced Car Eye 3.0 Pro system

BMW Advanced Car Eye 3.0 Pro is a dedicated dash cam system developed for BMW vehicles. The camera design, mounting points and electrical integration make it possible to achieve a clean, factory-style installation without visible cables or additional devices placed on the dashboard.

The system was selected specifically for this vehicle, allowing us to retain the original appearance of the cabin and ensure correct operation after the ignition was switched off.

Front camera installation in the BMW X1 E84

The front camera was installed at the top of the windscreen, close to the rear-view mirror. This position provides a wide field of view while keeping the device outside the driver’s direct line of sight.

The mounting position was selected to ensure that the lens correctly captures the road ahead. The power cable was routed discreetly behind the headliner and the original interior panels.

Rear camera and monitoring behind the vehicle

The second camera was installed at the rear of the vehicle. Its position allows the system to record the area behind the BMW while driving and to capture events when Parking Mode is active.

The cable connecting the front and rear cameras was routed behind the original interior trim. During installation, particular attention was paid to the location of the curtain airbags and other vehicle safety components.

BMW Car Eye 3.0 Pro Parking Mode

The system was connected to the BMW electrical installation so that Parking Mode could remain available after the ignition was switched off. This allows the camera system to protect recordings while the vehicle is parked.

Parking Mode is especially useful in residential car parks, shopping centres, multi-storey garages and other locations where the vehicle may be damaged while the owner is away.

Factory-style installation inside the BMW

After completion, the wiring remains hidden and the interior retains its original appearance. We tested the start-up sequence, both cameras, system communication and the correct activation of Parking Mode.
