Ford Explorer – dedicated Android navigation installation with factory reversing camera support
In this Ford Explorer, we carried out a professional installation of a dedicated Android navigation system fully integrated with the vehicle’s factory functions. The new multimedia unit provides access to GPS navigation, online applications, WiFi/4G connectivity, multimedia features and support for the factory reversing camera.
This upgrade significantly modernises the interior without losing important OEM functions. In this project, the system was also equipped with a climate control interface, allowing the driver to control ventilation and temperature settings directly from the new touchscreen display.
Dedicated Android navigation for Ford Explorer
The Android multimedia station was matched to the dashboard of the Ford Explorer, maintaining a clean and factory-like appearance. The screen integrates neatly into the centre console, while everyday operation becomes much more intuitive compared to older OEM systems.
The installed unit offers functions such as:
- GPS navigation with Google Maps,
- multimedia apps including YouTube, Spotify and internet radio,
- WiFi and 4G connectivity,

Factory reversing camera support
One of the key parts of this installation was the integration of the new navigation system with the factory reversing camera. When reverse gear is selected, the camera image appears on the screen of the new multimedia unit, keeping the vehicle convenient and safe to use every day.

Climate control interface on the Android screen
In this Ford Explorer, climate control operation was also retained through the new screen. The climate control interface allows the driver to manage airflow, temperature and selected comfort settings directly from the touchscreen panel.
This means the customer received modern multimedia functionality without losing the vehicle’s original comfort features.
