Kia Sportage – FineVu GX4K Front and Rear Dash Cam Installation with Parking Mode

In this Kia Sportage, we carried out a professional installation of the FineVu GX4K front and rear dash cam system. The system was connected to support Parking Mode, allowing the vehicle to be monitored not only while driving but also after the ignition has been switched off.

During the installation, we focused on correct camera positioning, safe cable routing and maintaining the factory appearance of the vehicle interior. All wiring was concealed behind the original trim panels.

FineVu GX4K is an advanced two-channel dash cam system designed to monitor the area in front of and behind the vehicle. Using two cameras provides wider coverage than a single front-facing recorder.

The front camera records the road ahead, while the rear camera captures the area behind the vehicle. This type of system can help document collisions, dangerous road situations and damage caused while the car is parked.

Front camera installation in the Kia Sportage

The front camera was mounted at the upper section of the windscreen near the rear-view mirror. The mounting position was selected to provide a clear view of the road without obstructing the driver’s field of vision.

The power cable was routed behind the headliner and original pillar trim. During the installation, we paid close attention to the location of curtain airbags and other vehicle safety components.

The mounting location of the front camera is important for both recording quality and driver comfort. The device should be placed as high as possible without blocking visibility or interfering with the equipment located around the mirror.

In this installation, the camera was positioned neatly and discreetly. Once the work was complete, the wiring remained hidden and the interior retained its original appearance.

The rear camera was mounted on the rear window of the tailgate. Its position was selected to provide a clear view of the area behind the Kia Sportage during both driving and Parking Mode operation.

The cable connecting the front and rear cameras was routed behind the original interior panels. We also ensured that the cable in the tailgate area would not interfere with opening and closing the boot.

Parking Mode in the Kia Sportage

The dash cam system was connected to allow Parking Mode operation. After the ignition is switched off, the recorder can continue monitoring the surroundings and protect footage related to incidents that occur while the car is parked.

Parking Mode is especially useful in residential car parks, shopping centres, garages and other places where the vehicle may remain unattended. Correct installation allows this feature to operate without visible cables or power from the cigarette lighter socket.
